Weekend Camping at Trask is for Scout units only, not family camping, and Council verifies each unit. Other events at Trask do welcome families and Cub Scouts. A family can't register for a Scout-unit-only weekend, so check the audience line on the Council page for your date.

Weekend camping

Weekend Camping at Trask

Who may attend: Scout units only, not family camping. Units are verified; non-Scout units email the Council camping administrator first.
Format: Overnight weekend (typically Friday afternoon to Sunday midday). Day-use option when camping is not booked.
What participants do: Unit campouts with Council-scheduled program on request, like pool time when the weather allows, range time, or a campfire. Program requests go through your reservation.
Preparation: Add program requests to the reservation with at least two weeks' notice. Check the live Council page for current fees and scheduled activities. Our supply suggestions are recommendations, not Council requirements; follow any event-specific instructions from Council.

Cub programs

Cub Twilight Camp

Who may attend: Cub Scouts with a parent or den leader. Adults attend with cubs.
Format: Evening day camp across one week (not overnight).
What participants do: Swimming, range sports, games, crafts, and nature, geared toward rank advancement.
Preparation: Space is limited and camperships may be available. Confirm both on the live Council page.

Cub Scout Adventure Day

Who may attend: Cub Scouts (Lions through Arrow of Light) with an adult partner or den leader. Siblings may attend but activities are geared to Cub ages; Lions do not use BB guns.
Format: Single program day at camp. Optional camping is booked separately.
What participants do: Range sports, crafts, nature, and games.

Advancement

Trail to First Class

Who may attend: Scouts working on Tenderfoot, Second Class, and First Class advancement.
Format: Overnight weekend at camp.
What participants do: Cooking, tools, navigation, swimming, leadership, nature, knots and lashings.
Preparation: Each Scout needs their own tent. A packing list is emailed after registration. Scouts arriving as Tenderfoots complete many requirements in one weekend, but not all.

Trail to Eagle evenings

Who may attend: Scouts working on Eagle-required merit badges (up to two per week, one per time period).
Format: Evening-only sessions across several weekdays, plus a makeup evening at the counselor's discretion.
What participants do: Classroom-style merit badge sessions with workbook review, lectures, and study time.
Preparation: Each badge assigns prerequisites and packet work; some classes assign homework, and time-sensitive requirements may need a later completion session.

Range & aquatics

Range Merit Badge day

Who may attend: Scouts pursuing Rifle or Shotgun merit badge (one class per Scout).
Format: Single program day at camp.
What participants do: Rifle or shotgun instruction with Council range staff.
Preparation: This day is for finishing partial completions. Bring proof of a prior partial from a class or summer camp. Ammunition is included for the day. Confirm current rules on the Council page before registering.

Snorkeling Award

Who may attend: Scouts in the Council aquatics program.
Format: Single-day sessions, typically on Sundays at Camp Trask or Santa Fe Dam.
What participants do: Snorkeling and paddlecraft instruction toward awards including the National Outdoor Award path.
Preparation: Bring your own snorkel, mask, and fins.
